Everyone has had a few Parker pens usually in college. Perhaps you have
used a Jotter that might have belonged to a relative. They have always
looked as very nice and classy pens. But after a few years you begin to
realize that the Jotters were actually cheap and not of good quality.

But after reading about fountain pens, you might become much more aware
of the history of Parker Pens and how they have become thought of as the
greatest pens around. One example is that the Parker 51 is recognized to be one of the very best fountain pens ever made.Office Max several times has have the Parker 45 and it looked very nice
but…it is only a Parker. Often taken by pens that have unusual nibs, the
partially-hooded design of the 45 has seemed interesting. The profile
of the Parker 45 was one of the last one for sale. Office Max had one of
the last of this model. The 45 was debuted on the market in 1960, and
has just gone out of production this year. So it looked as getting this
one looking like a great idea. It is gold and steel. The looks are not really very special but they
certainly are not at all bad. A bit more unusual than the 55 but it is a
nice looking pen. It is mostly understated with the only real different
design feature being the black jewel at the cap top. It is rather bland
but no complaints as it writes well. When opening the pen it actually
got better as the section is black which really contrasts with the
brushed steel and the gold-plated nib that contrasts beautifully with
the black.
The
nib unit is detachable and user-replaceable but the instructions don’t
say why – so it is probably that way for cleaning purposes or to replace
when damaged.
All in all there is nothing that should stop anyone from buying this pen – after all it is a Parker!
